Day 5 on the diet was one I had to get creative with. You can only have tomatoes and meat. My choice was turkey for both lunch and dinner.
I started off my day with sliced tomatoes, salted and peppered. That was fine. I like them that way and they were sort of a refreshing way to start my day.
By time lunch came around I was starving. I had a couple Turkey burgers and oven roasted tomatoes. Pretty good stuff, just not enough of it, because let’s face it, how many turkey burgers can you really eat.
For dinner I got creative. I used ground turkey and tomatoes. Sprayed my pan with pan, added a bunch of spices and the tomatoes and turkey, and actually had a really good meal. Who would have thought that? But, I was really hungry by time I went to bed. Even though they call this feast day, how do you feast on 2 things?
Day 6 is beef and vegetables day, and since I don’t eat beef, it was chicken and vegetable day.
I started the day with a glass of V8, you don’t get many more vegetables in you than that, and it’s pretty filling.
Lunch was a salad with chicken and all kinds of vegetables thrown on top. I did use a little vinegar and oil on top, but just enough to give it some flavor.
Dinner was grilled chicken breasts and grilled vegetables and a spinach salad. A great day and plentiful of food. My favorite one so far.
I didn’t do the 7th day since I knew I had party plans. However, I was very good. Even celebrating my granddaughter’s birthday with a fabulous cake from Publix, I took a very small piece, but it did satisfy me.
All in all, this diet is good if you want to lose weight in a week. I lost a little over 8 lbs, and while it’s not a hard diet to do, and there are lots of good eats, it gets a little repetitious. I felt good on it, and only experienced hunger a few times. Of course, we all know when we are dieting that we want whatever we aren’t allowed to eat and our minds seem to center on food. Keeping busy is key.
The one thing I brought away from this diet is portion control. Because I wasn’t eating huge amounts of food, I don’t seem to want large portions. Half of the meals I eat out always come home with me, which is a good thing. I’ve lost a few more pounds since then too, probably because of the lower portions. If I ever need to lose weight really quick, this is a diet I will do.
